Preliminary applications are currently being accepted to be added to the waiting list to rent affordable housing units in the City of Cape May. In order to be eligible for an affordable housing unit, your income must fall below the maximum income limits in the chart below, as determined by the New Jersey Affordable Housing guidelines.
Interested households will be required to submit a preliminary application in order to be placed in the applicant pool.

Triad Associates has been designated by The City of Cape May to act as the program Administrative Agent to qualify and assist applicants through the application process. When a unit is available, income eligible households will be contacted.
The first affordable units available are located on Lafayette Street in Cape May.
- 2 bedroom very low income unit renting for $496.54 per month.
- 3 bedroom low income unit renting for $1,086.72 per month.
Preliminary applications for these units will be accepted from July 30th thru September 28th for applicants to be eligible to be included in a lottery randomization that will be held on September 30, 2024. Soon after that time income/household eligible applicants will be contacted for the opportunity to fill out a full application for these units. Applications submitted after the lottery date will be added to the waitlist in the order that they are received.
